How the billing works
- What counts as a segment?
- 160 GSM-7 characters. One accent or emoji flips the body to UCS-2 and 70. You see the count before a send is scheduled, and the invoice counts it the same way.
- Does RCS cost the same as SMS?
- No. RCS is priced per conversation rather than per segment, and it is usually cheaper for anything longer than two segments. Reporting splits the two so you can see the difference.
- Do failed messages cost anything?
- Nothing we turn away costs you anything. Once a carrier has taken it and the handset never sees it, you are billed, because the operator bills us. The error name tells the two apart.
- Is there a minimum commitment?
- Live has none. Send nothing one month and you owe nothing; the invoice arrives after the fact. Dedicated commits a volume, because those binds sit waiting for you.
